What is a Galaxy Origins artwork?
A framed print of a telescope photograph of the real, catalogued galaxy that was nearest the point directly overhead at a date, time and place you choose, with your own dedication. It arrives in a black wood box frame behind clear acrylic, ready to hang.
How much does it cost?
Four sizes: 11 x 14 in $290, 16 x 20 in $490, 24 x 30 in $790, 32 x 40 in $1,290 (USD). The frame and delivery are included.
Is shipping included, and where do you ship?
Yes. Delivery to the United States and every country of the European Union is included in the price, with nothing to pay on arrival. Each artwork is printed and framed in the region it is going to, so it does not cross a customs border.
How long does delivery take?
Every artwork is made to order. Production usually takes a few working days, then the parcel travels by tracked courier. Your estimated delivery window is shown at checkout, and tracking is emailed when the parcel leaves.
Can I see it before I order?
Yes. The studio shows a print proof with your galaxy, words, date, place and size before checkout. The proof shows exactly what will be printed.
Can I return it?
Not for a change of mind, because each artwork is made to your specification. If it arrives damaged or misprinted, email photographs within fourteen days of delivery and a replacement is made at our cost. If the printed catalogue data does not match the NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database, the order is refunded in full.
Do I name the galaxy or own it?
No. A galaxy cannot be named or owned by anyone. It keeps its real catalogue name; what you receive is a framed artwork of it, and a record that it was assigned to your moment.
Can someone else get the same galaxy?
No. Once a galaxy is assigned to a moment, it is not assigned again.
Is there a digital version?
No. Galaxy Origins sells framed physical artworks only; there is no digital download.
