A gift with facts in it
Every number on the artwork is real: the catalogue ID, the coordinates, how far the galaxy is and how long its
light travelled. It is romantic and it holds up to scrutiny.
You give us a date, a time and a place. We compute the point that was directly overhead at that moment,
the zenith, and match the real, catalogued galaxy nearest to it that is still unassigned. The artwork is a
telescope photograph of that galaxy, finished for print, with the place, the date and up to
sixty characters of your words beneath it, in a black wood box frame behind acrylic glazing.

Black wood. Fine art paper. Acrylic glazing. Example artwork. Your galaxy and words are created in the studio. Frame details / Photography and finishing
The design is dark, minimal and precise: a galaxy, a ring of degree marks, a few lines of data. It reads as a scientific print rather than a decoration.
What size should I choose?
16 × 20 in suits most rooms. For above a sofa or bed, 24 × 30 in.
Is the galaxy really photographed?
Yes. Each artwork is made from a telescope photograph of that galaxy, from the DESI Legacy Imaging Surveys or Pan-STARRS1, finished for print. Its shape, orientation and scale are the telescope's own.
How much does it cost?
From $290 for 11 × 14 in to $1,290 for 32 × 40 in, framed and ready to hang.
